Greetings, colleagues. Has anyone come across references/data on Layyah Barakat, particularly toward the end of her life? She wrote the memoir* A Message From Mount Lebanon* (1912); and founded an orphanage in Abeih in the post WWI period that was still in existence in 1941. She was still alive then and on its board of directors. I am trying to trace more of her life history. Thanks, as always, Ellen Fleischmann efleischmann1@udayton.edu -- Department of History University of Dayton 300 College Park Dayton, OH 45469-1540 USA
