Dear Jawad,

There is a section on the founding of the Faculty of Sharia in the first
chapter of my book Baas et Islam en Syrie (the English version will be
released in February under the title Religion and State in Syria). For
additional details on the history of the Faculty, see the references I
mention and in particular the pieces by Botiveau and Böttcher.
