I looked for these archives in 2006. At the time, I was told that they were still at the municipal library, just south of the Alexandria stadium at the corner of al-Muhandis Ahmad Isma'il and al-Fannan Muhammad Hasan. The collection was then closed, and I didn't see it myself. The internet says that in January 2012, the Egyptian National Library took over the municipal library (http://www.ahram.org.eg/The-Last/News/128303.aspx). I'd also be grateful to know more.
