Dole Institute of Politics 2014 Research Fellowship and Travel Grants The Robert J. Dole Archive and Special Collections<http://dolearchives.ku.edu/>is now accepting applications for our 2014 Research Fellowship and Travel Grants. Established in 2010, these funding programs award grants to scholars engaged in projects studying Congress, politics, or policy issues. The Dole Archive and Special Collections at the Dole Institute of Politics houses Senator Bob Dole’s extensive collections that document his 36-year career in the House and Senate. While in residence, the Research Fellow and Travel Grant awardees will use these collections, which encompass a wide range of legislative, historical, and policy issues. Support for the Research Fellowship and Travel Grants is generously provided by the Friends of the Dole Institute<http://doleinstitute.org/Dole-friends.shtml> . *Research Fellowship* Graduate students and post-doctoral scholars are eligible to apply for this $2,500 award which will support substantial contributions to the study of Congress, politics, or policy issues on a national or international scale. The fellow will be required to conduct research at the Dole Archives for a period of 1-3 weeks. Applications for the Research Fellowship must be received in whole by the Dole Archives on or before March 17, 2014. *Travel Grants* The Travel Grant program is intended to defray costs associated with research-related travel to the Dole Institute. This program offers reimbursements of up to $750 to undergraduate and graduate students, post-doctoral researchers, and independent scholars. Applications for travel grants are reviewed on a rolling basis. There is no deadline to apply, and applications will be accepted until funds are exhausted. Applicants can expect a decision regarding their application within 2-4 weeks.
