Please welcome Melissa Kapadia-Bodi to the H-Labor-Arts list, her introduction
is below:

 I am a secretary/transcriptionist and part-time doctoral student at
 the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education.  This dual
identity has given me a peculiar and fascinating look into the
academy.  My current research focuses on writing, power hierarchies, and
identity
construction in the academic workplace.
