There were some articles on this topic in the old, unfortunately now defunct, journal, Southwest Economy and Society, which was the journal of the SW Labor Studies Assoc. for some years. I do not know where it might be found, but I'd check some good libraries. By the way, this was virtually the only place that I ever saw that published articles on Native American labor history, which overlaps with Latino/a-Chicano/a history in many instances, of course.
