THE GRAND THEATRE WITH SUPPORT FROM THE KENTUCKY ARTS COUNCIL PRESENTS THE AL SMITH FELLOWSHIP FILMMAKER TOUR "...damn bad oyster: The Times of William Goebel, governor" Filmmaker Sean Anderson will screen his film about the reviled Kentucky Governor who was shot on the steps of the Old Capitol in Frankfort. The film tells the story of this ruthless political boss who was shot after “stealing” the 1899 election. Gov. William Goebel, the only governor in U.S. history to die by assassination while in office, was killed on the steps of the Old State Capitol in Frankfort.
