Sent: Tue 1/26/2010 4:03 PM Subject: Colgate University - position opening COLGATE UNIVERSITY: The Jewish Studies Program and the History Department jointly invite applications for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Jewish History beginning in the 2010-2011 academic year. Scholars in all fields of Jewish history except Middle East history are encouraged to apply. A Ph.D. in History is preferred but Ph.D.s in Jewish Studies will also be considered. The fellow will participate in the intellectual life of the Jewish Studies program and the History Department, teaching three courses over two terms. These courses will probably include a pertinent survey course and a history course in the fellow's area of expertise. In the second year, the fellow will teach four courses; depending on area of expertise, one of these might be course in the University's Liberal Arts Core Curriculum. This position carries a salary of $42,000 with full benefits, some research/ travel support, and a modest events budget. Applicants should submit a letter of application (with a brief description of research and future teaching interests), a c.v., and placement file, including three letters of recommendation.
