ISBN: 978-0-7546-6804-6 Ashgate Popular and Folk Music Series Jews, Race and Popular Music is primarily concerned with the ways that the racialisation of the Jews in the post-Second World War period has impacted on the manner in which Jews have contributed to popular music. The majority of the book's chapters are concerned with popular music in the United States, and include discussions of Sophie Tucker, the importance of Jews in the 'white' blues boom of the 1960s, and the Beastie Boys. There is also a chapter on the Australian blues and soul singer, Renee Geyer, and chapters on the British artists Helen Shapiro and Amy Winehouse.
