Hi Mike:

Roger Goodman the anthropologist at Oxford is working on this subject and
just completing a book, I believe.  He has an excellent chapter in the
Routledge Handbook of Japanese Culture and Society, which Ted and I are just
finishing editing.  The Handbook should be out next spring.
