Hello. We are the Wood Library-Museum of Anesthesiology. We’re the library at the headquarters of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, located near Chicago in Park Ridge, Illinois. One of our physician members is looking for a photograph of Dr. Lorenzo Bruno (Born: Murazzano, July 21, 1821 – Died: Turin, March 4, 1900), who was an Italian politician, senator of the Kingdom of Italy in the thirteenth term, and formerly a physician to King Victor Emanuel. Dr. Bruno was especially important in Italian anesthesia history, and was the first to administer ether for surgery in Italy, and the first to use morphine as an aid to anesthetic use. The photo is strictly for educational/scholarly purposes, to be used in a chapter he is writing for a book on anesthesia history. Does anyone have a photo that they could please scan (jpeg; 300 dpi) and e-mail to us? (f.reilly@asahq.org) Or, does anyone have a book or journal containing a photo that we could borrow and scan? If not, can anyone please recommend other sources for us to contact? Thank you very much for your help. Sincerely, Felicia Reilly Archivist - Wood Library-Museum of Anesthesiology www.WoodLibraryMuseum.org American Society of Anesthesiologists 520 N. Northwest Hwy.
