To: H-NET List on Italian-American History and Culture <H-ITAM@h-net.msu.edu > ------------------ Hi Dominic, the body of st Lucia is in the church of St. Lucia in Venice Of course it's the major part of the body, because there are other little rests in all the church that are dedicated to her Ciao Pietro dott. To: d-candeloro@govst.edu Are there any experts on the subject of the whereabouts of Santa Lucia's body? There seems to be a bottomless pit of stories. I have pictures of her empty tomb in Siracusa. Some say she went from Siracusa to Constantinople then to Venice in 1204. Some say her head is in France. Some say she went directly to Sweden. Supposedly she was stolen from Venice in 1981 and they assume they were vandals from Siracusa. It goes on forever! Would love to get to the real skinny on this subject. Forgot to add that I have the image of Lucia's casket at St. Geremia, however the close up only shows her foot. The narrator also mentions there are many stories of the whereabouts of her real body. - Show quoted text - Thanks in advanced for some direction.
