THE BRITISH INSTITUTE FOR THE STUDY OF IRAQ ACADEMIC GRANTS The British Institute for the Study of Iraq (BISI) invites applications for grants in aid of Research and Conferences (£4,000), and for one Annual Pilot Project (£8,000). Projects must focus on Iraq, but can cover any field of the arts, humanities or social sciences, and any time period, from pre-history to the medieval era to the present day. As part of its Academic Grants programme, the BISI offers two Visiting Iraqi Scholarships each year to enable Iraqi scholars and cultural heritage professionals to engage in research, training and collaborative projects in the UK. Priority is given to Iraqi scholars who already have a working relationship with a UK institution or academic. Scholars may also choose to apply for the joint BISI and the Deutsche Orient-Gessellschaft Visiting Iraqi Scholarship, which is aimed at young Iraqi cultural heritage professionals, who could benefit academically, as well as intellectually, by travelling to both Germany and the UK. Deadline 1 February 2014 (for all grants) For full details, including eligibility, guidelines on how to apply and a list of past award holders, please visit:http://www.bisi.ac.uk/content/grants or contact the Administrator for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org/ 020 7969 5274.
