Sent: Wednesday, October 16, 2013 Subject: Genealogy fair at Indiana State Library The Indiana State Library will host its annual Indiana Genealogy and Local History Fair on Saturday October 26, 2013, in downtown Indianapolis from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Fairgoers can visit dozens of genealogical societies, local history organizations and public libraries, and shop commercial vendors in the "Midway." Fairgoers can also attend three free programs offered throughout the day, which are each worth one (1) LEU per program for librarians in attendance. The programs and speakers include: * 9:30 a.m.: "The Melungeons: Sons and Daughters of the Legend," Wayne Winkler, author and researcher * 11:00 a.m.: "To Infamy and Beyond: Family History and World War II," Ron Darrah, local researcher * 1:30 p.m.: "Melungeons, Myth, and Media," Wayne Winkler Parking will be available for $5 per car in the Senate Avenue garage directly north of the State Library. The entrance and exit to the garage are off of New York Street. Parking is also available on the street in metered spaces. Lunch plans can be made at any of hundreds of dining options located within blocks of the State Library. CJ's Sweet Creations will also be selling lunch items and baked goods in the library's café seating area. Registration is not required for this event. The Indiana Genealogy and Local History Fair is sponsored by the Indiana State Library Foundation. --
