Greetings, I wanted to draw your attention to a free History Day Resource Guide that is now available for download from the Frances Willard Memorial Archives in Evanston, IL. Students interested in 19th Century Social Reform, Women's History, Suffrage, or Temperance would all find something of use in the Guide. http://www.franceswillardhouse.org/HistoryDay.html Featuring many materials that are found only in the Frances Willard Library and Memorial Archives, this resource guide provides readers with an assortment of primary source materials on the life of Frances Willard, her involvement within the local community, and the evolution of women's roles within the context of a changing America in the late nineteenth century. Through this "virtual" archive, students can engage in independent exploration, and form their own interpretation of Willard and the issues she championed. The Guide itself is divided into 5 separate sections, each of which can be downloaded as a separate pdf document. http://www.franceswillardhouse.org/HistoryDay.html I've included a full color flyer that you might find useful to give to teachers or students. Please feel free to forward this message and to distribute the flyer as would be helpful to you. Thanks so much, Amy Tyson Vice President, Frances Willard Historical Association Please note: This 99-paged resource guide was produced as a result of a course project for DePaul University undergraduates in HST 391, "Local and Community History." http://www.franceswillardhouse.org/HistoryDay.html -- Amy M.
