Hello all, Truman State's Historical Society was revived around two years ago after a few years' dormancy. We've not had our first meeting of the year yet, but some of us turned out to greet new history majors during freshman week. I'm guessing that we'll probably keep up with the two efforts we've been at these last two years. We have been helping the university's atchivist clean up and re-catalog the collection of the currently-defunct Violette Museum. Years ago, the basement it was in flooded, and the collection was haphazardly stored elsewhere. Truman this year opened another museum/admissions center, so we might get involved with that. The Historical Society also has tried to mentor our fellow younger history majors, but we haven't had much success with that. I'd like to hear from the list about your respective clubs' effort in this area. Thanks! Jacob Thomeczek jit670@truman.edu H-Histmajor Co-Editor
