Date sent: 17 Nov 2009 Tensions of Europe Eurocores program 'Inventing Europe' We are pleased to announce the online publication of the TOE/IE Working Papers dedicated to investigating the hidden integration of Europe. The common thread running through the papers is that the making of Europe considerably antedates its recent emergence as a political entity. The claim is that visible political Europe rests on foundations built over the past centuries composed of 'invisible' plans, infrastructures and shared technologies and user practices. Within this framework, the TOE/IE Working Papers Series covers a wide range of topics. The series is relevant to scholars working in the history of technologies and infrastructures, European history, transnational history, water history, economic and business history, urban history, transport history, history of travel and tourism, environmental history, and womenıs history.
