Date sent: 27 Oct 2009 Dear colleagues [Apologies for cross-posting] ** Hidden Histories of Exploration: Exhibition & Website ** This is to let you know about a new public exhibition and website devoted to the role of indigenous peoples and intermediaries, including interpreters and guides, in the history of exploration. The exhibition is open daily (10.00-5.00) at the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG), South Kensington, from 15 October to 10 December 2009. Entrance is free of charge. The website, which contains many more images, film clips, research materials from the RGS-IBG collections, and other research resources and links, is at www.rgs.org/hiddenhistories This project has been undertaken by Felix Driver and Lowri Jones with the support of an AHRC grant promoting the public dissemination of research relating to collections in museums, galleries, archives and libraries. I hope colleagues around the world will find this of interest in their teaching and research, and will encourage others to make use of the resources on the website. Feedback welcome! Best wishes Felix Driver
