Dear H-HRE members, We are very pleased to report that we are adding a new H-HRE review editor, Dr. Erik Thomson. Erik is an assistant professor of history at the University of Manitoba. He researches widely in early seventeenth century history, focusing particularly on French and Swedish history and on the areas of economics, politics, and elite culture. He is currently preparing a book manuscript on Cardinal Richelieu, Chancellor Oxenstierna, and Commerce. Erik's expertise should help us expand our ability to solicit and edit reviews of books about the Empire's international interactions with its northern and western neighbors. He will also be handing reviews of books relating to imperial diplomacy and economics, and those focusing on the intellectual and art history of the Empire. Erik has served H-HRE as a book reviewer in the past, and we welcome him now into his new role as review editor. Yours, Tryntje Helfferich Amy R. Caldwell H-HRE Editors
