Sent: Mon Oct 26 13:38:52 EDT 2009 Subject: Florida Historical Society 2010 Conference Please help spread the word for presenters for the 2010 Florida Historical Society annual meeting. Last year's conference was in Pensacola and had a great turn out of papers and presenters. In 2010, May 27-29, we will be meeting in St. Augustine--another great venue! The Call for Papers should be posted shortly in H-Announce. But you can also get the information at the Society website at: http://www.myfloridahistory.org/specialevents/2010annualmeeting I'm program chair this year. We are accepting individual papers and group panels between now and February 1, 2010. This is going to be a great conference for presenting on colonial and nineteenth century Florida, civil rights, public history, etc. Plus we're planning tours and historical excursions for the afternoons. The Society also runs a variety of book awards and student paper awards--contact me for info or see the website. Hope we will have a terrific turn out for 2010! Conference hotel is the Casa Monica; room rates are $130.00--they'll go fast. Make your plans now-- Sincerely, Jim Cusick P.K. Yonge Library of Florida History
