Thomas, Park, and Miller's OLD WORLD TRAITS TRANSPLANTED might have
the kind of thing you are looking for. I recall it has many
varie-colored neighborhood maps, but they all may be confined to
different ethnic groups. And wasn't there another volume in that
"Americanization Series" called AMERICA BY NEIGHBORHOOD that might
have something of the sort? But you have probably already checked
these titles.
