O'Donnell Regarding colonial-era nativism, I'm sure you have it already, but just in case you'll want to check out Benjamin Franklin's classic rant against German immigrants (including their seeming refusal to learn English). The passage comes from Franklin's "Observations on the Increase of Mankind" (1751). Edward T.
