Sent: 07 November 2009 23:37 To: Early Slavic Studies Subject: ESSA Meeting and Dinner on Friday Nov 13 at the AAASS in Boston - Four Further Notices, including Food Substitution, If That Is a Concern 1) We are going to try to start the meeting at 6:53, not 7:00, since we want to stop by 7:40 to get to Park Square Legal Sea Foods, and we can use the extra 7 minutes or so. (We cannot start earlier, since Session 8 ends at 6:45.) The meeting is in Yarmouth (Room, I assume). 2) It turns out that we do not have a "Secretary" at this time, just a Treasurer (Cynthia Vakareliyska), a Newsletter Coordinator-Compiler-Editor (Chris Raffensperger), and a Webmaster (Sandra Levy, whom I forgot to mention in my recent newsletter "Message from the Incoming President" -- tysiachi izvineniia, svp), as well as a President and a VP. For now it just seems as if we need someone to volunteer to take rudimentary minutes with precise wording of resolutions for this meeting, as we figure out what we are going to do in the future. Maybe the minutes can then be checked by the officers, approved via H-Early Slavic, and then placed in the next spring newsletter or in a special file on the website -- let's mull this one over, but someone please volunteer re this meeting's minutes. 3) If anyone has an agenda item for the meeting, please let me know ASAP. Cynthia Vakareliyska plans to have a financial statement ready, and I shall have a prepared printed agenda for the sake of efficiency. 4) I just checked with Park Square Legal Sea Foods -- if anyone has an allergy or other dietary concern with the plannned menu, you have been promised complete accomodation for your specific needs. We simply must be sure to let the restaurant staff know of this as soon as we arrive. I shall try to organize this, but people need to let me know. (And we still have free spots, so sign up and invite others to do so as well.) best to all, David Goldfrank, President Elect
