Hi Bill, I was at Archives II in March 2012 and used a digital camera to capture 1000s of pages of documents. The main room is spacious and bright so no need for a flash just a reasonably good quality camera. You need to get authorisation in the room each to use your camera but this is easily done. As far as I remember you can use your camera at any table. I travelled from Ireland to Washington so having images on my camera (and backup on a usb) was way more cost effective and easier for me as I didn't have a pile of paper to bring home with me. Its important to photograph boxes and folders etc as well as the documents so you have references for your later work. And a tripod will make your task much easier too. I hope this is of assistance. Best Wishes, Jacqueline Fitzgibbon --
