I know we usually don't have teaching discussions on this list, but I am teaching a modern world history course and looking to revive the books used. I am wondering if individuals might have suggestions for non-textbooks. Either an easier monograph (this is an intro course at a community college) or a fictional work that offers great themes about an important event such as imperialism or WWII or the Cold War. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Please reply off-list to me at firstname.lastname@example.org Sincerely, Seth Offenbach, PhD Assistant Professor History Department Bronx Community College --
