I write on behalf of a panel for the 21st International Conference of Europeanists to be held in Washington DC from March 14-16, 2014. We are currently looking for a chair or comment. The panel examines the development of non-state actors and their effects on official international policy during the twentieth century in Europe. We currently have four participants looking at a variety of topics, including an examination of commercial expositions as part of France's postwar globalization, transnational labor solidarity among dockworkers and its impact on EU policy, and the growth in power of South Asians in the English-speaking world in the interwar period. My own work examines European and American solidarity with Portuguese African nationalists during the era of the colonial wars and how this laid the groundwork for later anti-Apartheid activism. If you are interested in joining as either a chair or a comment, please contact me by September 29. Panel submission is October 1. Cheers, Joe Parrott -- R.
