I am trying to assess a research visit to archives in the former Soviet Union. I am unclear about the status of the RGANI and RGASPI archives and I have a few questions that I would appreciate having members of H-Diplo answer. 1) Can foreign researchers still get access to documents in these collections? 2) What preparation must researchers with US citizenship make before traveling to visit these documents? 3) Can anyone recommend published documents in Russian on the following subjects: a) The 1955 Bandung Conference b) General Soviet views of Western imperialism/colonialism from 1947-1964 c) The Twentieth Party Congress of 1956, particularly as it related to post-colonial states (not interested in material related to the Secret Speech) d) Soviet views of Nonalignment from 1947-1964 e) General strategy about international propaganda from 1947-1964 4) If anyone has ANY digital copies of Soviet documents in Russian on the above topics, would anyone be willing share those copies with me? Thank you; I will gratefully take responses offline to my e-mail address. -- Dr. Eric Pullin Assistant Professor Department of History, and Asian Studies Program Carthage College --
