[Please reply to the email address provided above, Ed] We are looking for a third panelist and a chair /commentator interested in presenting at the Biennial International Conference of the Inter-University Seminar on Armed Forces & Society, which will be in Chicago on Oct. 25-27, 2013. Our panel concerns American domestic issues that became controversial in post-World War II Europe. Currently, one paper looks at the controversy over African American orphans who were the children of black servicemen to understand American and European anxieties about black soldiers in the postwar occupation. Another paper examines how American issues shaped the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in its early years. Please contact Douglas with questions (douglas.bristol@usm.edu). Proposals for inclusion on the panel are due Friday, February 1. Sincerely, Douglas Bristol, Jr., Ph.D. Associate Professor Department of History University of Southern Mississippi
