Dear List Serv members, My co-panelists and I are looking for someone who would be interested in chairing a proposed panel for SHAFR 2013. The panel addresses the problems and possibilities of immigration as it pertains to American foreign relations. We have three confirmed presenters: David Atkinson, Assistant Professor at Purdue, will examine Australians’ perceptions of the United States’ experience with Asian and Eastern European immigration; Anne Blashke, Bridgewater State University, will discuss the high-profile marriage of a Czechoslovakian female athlete to an American, her subsequent immigration in 1956, and her internationally publicized criticism of U.S. racism and sexism in sport over the following decade; and I will be exploring the relationship between anarchist immigration restriction, national security, and American foreign relations in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. If interested, please contact me at: alexander.noonan.1@bc.edu. Thanks in advance, Alex ------ Alexander Noonan Ph.D. Candidate History Department Boston College
