I intend to put a panel together for the 2013 SHAFR annual conference
tentatively entitled "The Cold War Through Third World Eyes."  It would
explore how Third World leaders or people viewed, understood, and/or
maneuvered within the cold war.  Paul Chamberlin has generously agreed to
serve as chair for this panel.

It is my hope to assemble panelists whose papers provide variety in
geographic space and time.  My own work explores Arab Nationalists' view
of, and policies within, the cold war during the 1950s.  If you would like
to participate as a panelists or as a commentator, please contact me at
