This is a call for panelists for the 2011 OAH Annual Meeting in Houston, Texas. I am writing a paper on American women who were appointed as official delegates to international governmental conferences from 1920 to 1945. My paper will seek to explain not only why presidential administrations found it beneficial to include women in many of the delegations sent to international governmental meetings during the interwar years, but also the political and international experiences that prepared these women to participate in such meetings. I am seeking a chair, a commentator and at least two other panelists whose research examines one of the following topics: women involved in U.S. foreign policy during the first half of the twentieth century, U.S. participation at international conferences during the interwar years, or the attitudes of interwar presidential administrations towards women's participation in professional politics. If you are interested in serving as a commentator/chair please email me a short c.v. If you would like to present a paper please send a 100 word - abstract to csnider@berry.edu. Thanks, Christy Snider ******************************************************* Dr. Christy J. Snider, Chair Department of History 5010 Mt. Berry Station Berry College Mt.
