Jonathan Nashel wrote: "Can anyone point me to a 1950s American magazine article that contrasted the daily life of American and Soviet youth?" I believe the article Jonathan Nashel is looking for was Life's cover story for 24 March 1958. It was the opening article in a series on what they termed the "Crisis in Education." The article compared the life of Alexei Kutzkov in Moscow (a tenth grader) with that of Stephen Lapekas of Chicago (an eleventh grader).
