List members, Can anyone point me to a 1950s American magazine article that contrasted the daily life of American and Soviet youth? I seem to recall that "Life" magazine did a fanciful story that contrasted the life of a boy named John with Ivan, his Soviet counterpart. In it, John doesn't amount to much, given that he is reading comics and listening to rock and roll. Ivan, on the other hand, is busy doing mathematical computations in his free time and dreams of serving the Soviet state.
