Friday, November 13, 2009 OnSite Washingtonians try to save the lost Lustrons Washington Business Journal - by Kim A. O'Connell Contributing Writer On a sunny morning a year ago, I joined a group of visitors in the Museum of Modern Art in New York. We werent there to view Andy Warhol paintings or Joan Mir collages, but to disassemble an all-steel Lustron house, which had been erected in near-entirety for MoMAs acclaimed 2008 exhibition on prefabricated housing. I had followed this particular Lustron on a long, strange trip from its original lot in Arlington to a warehouse in Chantilly and then to this world-class museum, where I and other volunteers had assembled the house in June and returned four months later to see it back to Virginia.
