On the last day of this year's Washington Historical Studies conference (Saturday, 14 November, held at the Sumner School Museum, 17th and M Sts NW) at 11:15 I will be joined by Josephine Baker (Charter School Board) and Robin Jenkins (Educational Licensure Commission) to discuss the various repositories of records useful in researching the history of all forms of primary and secondary education in DC. Pass-outs will include: the location of records of defunct trade schools/junior colleges/Catholic schools; a resume of the resources in the Sumner School Archives; and contacts for obtaining such information as school building blueprints, video recordings of Board of Education meetings, and homeschooling and GED records. Below is the outline from which we will speak. The panel presentation will be followed by a tour of the Sumner School collection.
