Having worked in casualty reporting in Vietnam, causalties could mean
dead, wounded, mising in action, POW, deserters, etc. We considered
those who tested for heron on their way home were casualties.This is why
it is so difficut to even determine how many people were even killed
during the Civil War.  History is as much an art as a science.
