The ideal candidate will have a research focus on social or cultural history topics such as religion, gender, race, or colonialism. The successful candidate will be expected to teach one or more of the introductory world history surveys as well as specialized senior world history courses in their specific area of expertise. The ability to teach in additional subject areas such as regional or continental survey is an asset. Candidates must have a PhD (or solid indication of imminent completion) and must demonstrate excellence in both teaching and research. Grant MacEwan University is a vibrant institution that takes pride in its small class sizes and learner-centered educational atmosphere. The Department of Humanities seeks an engaging teacher and scholar who will inspire students and colleagues to achieve at their highest levels. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, in accordance with Canadian immigration requirements, Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority. If suitable Canadian citizens or permanent residents cannot be found, other individuals will be considered. Applicants should submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae, teaching dossier including student evaluations, sample publication or research in progress, and graduate transcripts. Candidates should also arrange for three letters of reference to be sent under separate cover.
