The University of Virginia has the WPA _Guide to the Old Dominion_ online at: http://xroads.virginia.edu/~HYPER/VAGuide/frame.html Alan B. Howard abh9h@virginia.edu ===================== FROM: jon-christian suggs <jsuggs1@nyc.rr.com> DATE: Nov 3, 2009 at 11:54 AM There are a few travel guides for African Americans listed when you Google --Negro "travel guide" United States--. Most of these are from the early to mid-20th century. There is a book I have somewhere but can't find, which is a collection of travel articles by state written for _Opportunity_, the magazine of the Urban League. (I hope I am not misremembering this--someone clarify this if you can before I finally find the book.) jon-christian suggs english the city university of new york jsuggs1@nyc.rr.com
