As far as digital cameras, tripods, scanners, etc. are concerned, it is probably best to contact individual archivists who can better familiarize you with their institution's policy. However, there are some general guidelines to using digital imaging in the archives. I would recommend reading "Taking a Byte Out of the Archives: Making Technology Work for You" by Kirklin Bateman, Sheila Brennan, Douglas Mudd, and Paula Petrik in the January 2005 _Perspectives_. The "Electronic Researcher" website (<http://archiva.net/electronicresearcher/>) also has some useful information for digital beginners. Best wishes, Jason -- Jason M.
