------------------ Dear Listmembers, I am trying to get some sense of what Europeans and Africans were able to watch in cinemas in African cities during WWII, and in particular what, if any, of the propaganda-type fiction films produced during the war by the Allies or Axes forces, or by Vichy, would have been seen in Africa. This is in the context of historical background for a piece Iım writing on African filmmakersı encounters with the war film as a genre. Any help and pointers to reading very gratefully received.
