It deals with a women group's objection to the tradition of genital mutilation which has endured in various parts of Africa; it is NOT a documentary, but a what has come to be known to me as doc/fic, a film that looks like a doc, but is a fiction film, based on reality but recreated on the basis of ethnographic information and Sembene's own knowledge.
