I do not know any direct comparisons either. Is it for teaching purposes? If you don't find anything covering both genocides, you could always set a couple of texts which focus on each one and get your students to draw out comparative elements. For that kind of exercise I could recommend the shortish description of the genocide found in one of the chapters of: Wolfgang Werner 1998. 'No one will become rich'. Economy and society in the Herero reserves in Namibia, 1915-1946. Basel Namibia Studies. Basel (Switzerland): P. Schlettwein. There's also, of course, Jan-Bart Gewald, 1999 'Herero heroes : a socio-political history of the Herero of Namibia', 1890-1923. Oxford: James Currey ; Athens : Ohio University Press. but his account's a lot longer. For Rwanda I know less but between the works of Gerard Prunier, Mahmood Mamdani and Peter Uvin I'm sure you could find a concise account.
