I am stunned at this news.  I first met Francois in 1994, when I was
just beginning my graduate career.  Francois was extremely kind and
supportive to me.  As one of the tiny number of Gabonese teaching in
the United States, he was always gracious and receptive to Americans
taking an interest in his country.  To think he is gone, along with
his old associate Chris Gray!  I'm sure others who worked with
Francois more can say more.  A sad loss indeed.

If anyone could send me his family's address, I would most certainly
appreciate
it.
