H-Africa co-editor <firstname.lastname@example.org> On behalf of the editorial team at H-Africa, I am pleased to hand editorial duties over to my colleague, and one of our newest editors, Colleen Vasconcellos of Florida International University. Colleen is an ABD doctoral student specializing in Atlantic history; her PhD thesis research concerns the role of children in preserving African cultural identity in early colonial Jamacia. Her MA thesis was on the place of children in the Atlantic Slave Trade. She is also a co-editor of H-Caribbean and H-Childhood. Colleen will be at the helm of H-Africa over the next month or so, taking us through this "festive season." Several of the other editors will be traveling to academic conferences during this next month: for example, Peter Limb will be in South Africa, and Harold Marcus and I will be at the American Historical Association meetings in California. As always, we look forward to meeting our subscribers face to face during these travels. And we appreciate Colleen taking care of H-Africa online business during this time.
