University of the West of England <James.Gibbs@uwe.ac.uk> The inquiry about African ritual and drama was passed on to me. This is an issue that has been much considered in relation to Wole Soyinka, and which Derek Walcott engages with in _Dream on Monkey Mountain_. Any book length study on Soyinka's work will have something on ritual and drama; Ketu Katrak has a lot on it. Anthony Graham-White's _Drama of Black Africa_ has a useful discussion of ritual.
