In June 2006, the French journal Politique africaine will publish a special issue on memories of colonialism, with special attention to the ways in which such memories serve certain political ends, including specific public policies. The title of this special issue will (probably) be "Grey memories. The reconstructions of colonial pasts in Africa and Europe" (in French "Mémoires grises. Passés coloniaux recomposés en Afrique et en Europe"). You'll find the full text of this call for papers, both in English and French, on the "actualités scientifiques" part of the journal's website at http://www.politique-africaine.com/ The issue will be published in June 2006. Proposals for articles (under a page) should be sent by December 31, 2005 by email to the editor-in-chief (Roland Marchal marchal@ceri-sciences-po.org), and the two coordinators of the special issue (Christine Deslaurier christine.deslaurier@ird.fr and Aurélie Roger aurelie.roger@sciencespobordeaux.fr) The texts, in French or in English, should be sent by March 15, 2006. They should not exceed 50,000 signs (space and footnotes included). The texts should be original articles, not yet published. They will be submitted for evaluation to the coordinators of the special issue and to the editorial board. Evaluations often result in proposals for amendments or other comments; these comments must be addressed by the authors, who are responsible for revisions. -- Amos Anyimadu accraboy@fastmail.fm
