I'm new to this school and there is an expectation that there will be an adult presence in the lab at all times when there are students there. We're a one lab school and this poses a problem if teachers want some students to work in the lab for a few minutes during a lesson while I'm not available to supervise. I've been thinking further about the fact that many schools are moving to laptop carts and even laptop programs; in those cases, students may be on the computer during school without having an adult physically present. I'm trying to work through this issue to make a recommendation to the technology committee. What does your school do? Do you have any advice/observations to help me work through this issue?
